Stout Energy Showcases Cooling-as-a-Service Innovation at World Utilities Congress 2025
“Cooling-as-a-Service is a transformative business model that unlocks faster adoption of multiple emission-reducing technologies, making sustainable cooling more accessible and scalable.”
— Sarath Karottu, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Development, Stout Energy
Abu Dhabi, UAE — May 29, 2025
Stout Energy proudly participated in the prestigious World Utilities Congress (WUC) 2025, held from 27–29 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This influential global event welcomed over 18,000 energy and water industry professionals, 460+ expert speakers, and 160+ exhibitors from 110 countries, all gathering to drive innovation, collaboration, and sustainability across the utilities sector.
Sarath Karottu Presents Cooling-as-a-Service at the Technical Conference
At the heart of this landmark event, Sarath Karottu, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Development at Stout Energy, delivered a technical seminar on the revolutionary Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) model. His session was part of the Technical Conference track: "Cooling and Recovery Strategies for Clean Energy Transition", a high-level panel that explored scalable and climate-aligned solutions to global cooling demands.
In his presentation, Sarath outlined how CaaS enables clients to access high-efficiency cooling systems without the burden of upfront capital costs. Instead, Stout Energy finances, installs, operates, and maintains the system, allowing customers to pay only for the cooling they consume. He emphasized the role of CaaS in reducing operational costs, improving energy efficiency, and cutting carbon emissions—a model that aligns perfectly with global sustainability targets and clean energy transition goals.
Esteemed Session Chairs Lead the Dialogue
The session was chaired by two prominent leaders in the field:
Ghislain Juvanon, Chief Operating Officer of PWT Wasser- und Abwassertechnik GmbH
Mark Jones, Chief Engineer at AtkinsRéalis
Their presence added valuable depth to the discussions, which covered breakthrough strategies in district cooling, refrigerant recovery, and demand-side innovation.
